The best way to get around Tomohon and reach some of the surrounding villages is by mikrolet. These light blue Mitsubishi Colts are everywhere. They operate on set routes with established fares, but when empty will pick you up to go anywhere--at a price. Be sure to negotiate a fare price when going off route. All regular routes begin and end at the main market terminal. Although it may appear easy to get from one village to another on the map, it is often easier to return to the central terminal and get the next departing mikrolet.
